Most recurring work isn’t one person’s job. A renewal review involves RevOps, the CSM, and the account executive. A release checklist involves engineering, product, marketing and support. Songbird is built so a team can own a loop together, improve it over time, and keep it moving forward instead of waiting on individuals to remember they are up next. There are two places to build loops:

My loops

Your private loops, using your personal connections. Where most people start.

Spaces

Shared areas for a team or people across multiple teams. Share loops and connections to build together.

Your Organization

Songbird groups people from the same company into one Organization, based on the account’s work email domain.
  • The first person to sign up from a domain creates the Organization, which is named after the domain (for example, acme.com becomes “Acme”). They become its admin.
  • Everyone after that from the same domain joins the existing Organization automatically, as a member. There’s no invite to send or accept.
  • A work email is required. Personal email providers such as Gmail and Outlook, and disposable addresses, can’t be used to sign up.
Joining the Organization doesn’t give anyone access to a space’s loops or connections. New members see the Organization’s spaces in their sidebar and can start building in My loops right away.

My loops

My loops holds the loops only you can see and edit. They use your personal connections and any Organization apps, like Slack. New loops go into My loops by default. It’s the right place to try an idea, build something just for yourself, or get a loop working before sharing it with a team.

Spaces

A space is a shared area for a team or a body of work, such as “CX & Sales” or “Engineering.” Each space has a name, a short description of its purpose, its members, its loops, and its shared connections.
  • Anyone in the Organization can create a space. After you create one, Songbird prompts you to add members.
  • Every member can edit every loop in the space. There are no separate viewer or editor roles inside a space. If you’re a member, you can build, change, test, and publish its loops.
  • Members can add other people from the Organization to the space.
  • Loops in a space use the space’s shared connections and Organization apps, never a member’s personal connection. See Connections.
To build a loop in a space, pick the space when you create the loop. The picker lists the spaces you’re a member of.

Finding spaces

The sidebar shows the spaces you belong to. Browse shows every space in the Organization, including ones you’re not in. For a space you’re not a member of, you can see its name, description, and members, but not its loops or connections. To join, ask a member to add you.

Teamwork in Slack

Most people will see a loop’s output in Slack before they ever open Songbird. Everyone in the channel a loop posts to can read its results, and they can open the loop itself. Channel membership is the boundary for viewing. Add someone to the channel and they can view the loop. Remove them and they can’t. There’s no separate list to keep in sync. A loop duplicated from Slack lands in the person’s My loops with access to Organization apps, but not to the original’s shared or personal connections. They connect their own systems before it can run, so duplicating never hands anyone access they didn’t already have.
The Songbird agent can only do what you can do, whether you talk to it in the app, in Slack, or from Claude or ChatGPT. Asking it to edit a loop works only if you can edit that loop yourself.

Common questions

Not yet. Duplicate the loop, or create a new one in the space and copy the steps across.
Not yet. Ask any member of the space to add you. You can see who the members are from Browse.
Not today. Every space’s name, description, and members are visible to the whole Organization. Its loops and connections are visible only to its members.
Not today. Space membership means full editing access. To let someone follow a loop’s results without editing it, add them to the Slack channel the loop posts to.
Organizations are based on work email domain. Check that everyone signed up with the same company domain.
